Annecy Hall Dorm Reviews at DeSales

When looking at the options for sophomore housing, I toured the Heights, Donahue, and Annecy. I had lived in Aviat my freshman year so I had already had a larger room than majority of the freshman. While the Heights are a great option, my friends and I wanted a better chance of getting a Villa for our senior year so we settled for a regular suite instead. The main difference that caused us to pick Annecy was the cleanliness of the laundry room. We walked into the Donahue laundry room and people had removed others clothes from the machines so they could wash their own clothes. Most of the piles were on top of the machines but there were some piles placed on the floor. While Donahue is larger and has the added shelf on top of the desk, the slightly larger rooms in Annecy won us over.

I lived at Donahue before Annecy. Donahue is better overall. However, we went with Annecy due to the change in RAs. Having bad RAs can make living in a dorm a nightmare. Besides that, Annecy is fine. The rooms are a decent size but could be bigger. The bathroom is a nice size, but the shower is small. Be careful of the washer and dryer because they can bleach and shrink your clothes if you have the wrong settings. Annecy is within walking distance of everything. There's always parking. With COVID going on, there's not much you can do in the common areas. Overall, Annecy is a decent place, but I recommend getting a height or a villa if possible.
