I had a very fun time as a freshman in Wallace Hall. Coming in as a freshman to Drury University was scary due to it being such a foreign environment. Wallace gave me a starter community I felt comfortable with and it lead to great friends throughout my college career.

I think my stay at Wallace Hall has been a typical dorm experience. I didn't expect anything to be of luxury quality, but the things they have provided are of decent quality (appliances, furniture, etc.). Maintenance could be better in terms of response time; I've put in at least 3 work orders this school year and only one has been carried out (3 months after it was initially submitted). The bathrooms also had a bit of mold in them when I first moved in, but other than that the place is kept pretty clean. My neighbors are loud and obnoxious, but my hall is full of frat-boy types so I can't say I'm surprised.

Wallace Hall can be an extremely social hall, however COVID-19 has put a big damper on that. Wallace is one of the older dorms on Drury campus and when my roommate and I moved in, we were extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of our room and bathroom. We had to completely wipe down almost every surface in our rooms and bathroom due to them being very gross. However, after that, it only went up. We formed good relationships with people in our dorms, including the staff, and have had a good experience thus far. Wallace is a really good "middle-man" of not being too expensive (like Sunderland) and not being too run-down (like Smith). However, the baseball boys on the third floor were very loud and I could hear them almost constantly.

I actually loved living in Wallace Hall. I made a lot of friends and it was easy to go visit them since we all lived in the same hall. Wallace isn't the nicest or the cleanest, but it is a lot of fun.

The people and experiences that I've currently had at Wallace have been amazing. Despite COVID-19, the staff have been accommodating, friendly, and open to hearing about our struggles during this tumultuous time. However, when my suite-mate and I moved into our dorm, we were extremely dissatisfied with the cleanliness of our room. Our bathroom shower had mold around the edges, nothing in our room was wiped down, and the rooms were filthy. Once we did our own cleaning, however, we've had no complaints since and have loved every minute of being here. (Minus getting an official warning from an RA for my suite-mate being in my room.)

It was a very lovely experience living in Wallace Hall. I loved being able to connect with so many people! The only thing that wasn't great was the bathrooms. The bathroom was very small to be shared between four people, and there wasn't any ventilation.
