Niebuhr Hall Dorm Reviews at Elmhurst

- super loud at night (people running around the hallway even though being scolded by security guards and RA, blasting music until 4am) - extremely dirty (lots of trash on the ground - poor the nice janitor => don't even tell me "at least he has jobs to do") - very unsafe, living in the same hall but people hitting each other violently - vape is everywhere, cigarette is all over the place - the bathroom is super dirty, laundries all over, no cleaning, people leaving water on to waste it, didn't flush the toilet or clean it (honestly makes me nausated) - the shower area is super dirty with lots of hair, leftover underwear, stuck sewage - talked to the Housing director and no helped receive, everything still the same from Fall 2022 to Spring 2023 - worst experience ever

I moved in at the beginning of February, and my experience has been extremely pleasant. When I first moved in, someone put decorations on my door. It made me smile and I felt very accepted. The other students are extremely nice. There is a Niebuhr Hall groupchat, and if you need anything at all, all you have to do is ask. Whether it be needing help with homework, needing a spoon, or needing help with your hair! The dorm students are extremely helpful and kind.

Niebuhr is super helpful for freshman because you are in the middle of campus and right next to the cafeteria. I had never gone to school in the snow so the location was really great. This building doesn’t have AC so the first week of school is really hot. The bathrooms are always clean and the laundry is pretty much always free.

I am a Resident Adviser in Niebuhr Hall. The hall is predominantly occupied by first year students, so it is very easy to meet new people and make new friends. I have met a lot of awesome people, and the atmosphere is tremendous.
