Ponce De Leon Hall Dorm Reviews at Flagler

Staying in Ponce De Leon Hall is a really great experience. The location, structure and decoration of the residence hall is absolutely stunning. Also, the fact that it is considered a haunted hotel makes living there even more exciting. Staff member are really nice and friendly, but on a daily basis there is construction going on on certain floors.

Ponce Hall was my first choice for dorming. The dorm is actually an old luxury hotel built by Henry Flagler for the rich and famous in the late 1800s. The whole dorm has a castle like feel to it with really intricate stained glass in the dining hall (which is part of Ponce) to the marble entry way and the ornate architecture throughout. My room itself is a little on the cramped side for a triple but my roommates are great. We have a semi private bathroom attached that we share with the double on the other side of the bathroom. The furniture (desk, chair, dresser, bed frame, fridge/microwave combo) provided was decent although I strongly recommend getting the thickest mattress topper you can find as the school provided mattress is the equivalent of a camping mattress. Everyone is pretty respectful of quiet hours and the RA has been super helpful. Overall great experience for my first time away from home.

My room 211 is ridiculously small. Other rooms are a lot bigger. We were duped for the tuition here. It should be a single. Very uncomfortable. The pot smell is crazy in Ponce hall. Never thought I would move into a crack house.

For the most part an great experience. Looking back the location was extremely desirable. However, seeing as the building is old and a piece of history, there were issues that we experiences that were caused by this, including bug issues. Looking past those issues, this is a fantastic dorm.

Beautiful building would live there again, unfortunately residence life was quite unorganized and had multiple roommates. There were rooms that exceeded the amount of people coded for the room while there were empty rooms on other floors.

Living in Ponce puts you directly on campus with easy access to the dining hall and most classes. However you do need to remember it is an old building and there's a chance for heavy foot traffic especially on the ground floor from tourists in the building.

It is a very old building which presented some issues, but it was worth it because it is one of the most beautiful, historic buildings you could possibly be in. It felt like a dream living in such a cool place.

It is beautiful, but the hallways can be very noisy, and the laundry rooms are incredibly dirty at times. The RA's are present, but it is easy to break rules and not get caught. Security doesn't pay attention to who is going up into the halls, even though you're only supposed to go if you are a resident.

Ponce has been a great dorm to be placed in. Some closets don't have keys and it is a bit outdated but overall a good size room. The laundry area is located conveniently on same level but the dryers do not dry well.

There are so many reasons as to why anyone who views or attends Flagler College would enjoy Ponce. It's the main building and it is genuinely a beauty. The minute you walk through the gate you see the beautiful fountain and the greenery that makes the place. For a student attending, like I am, you not only get to enjoy the beauty but the convenience. I am close to all of my class buildings, get to walk down one flight of stairs to dhall, and get to enjoy the beauty of the area and Downtown Saint Augestine.

Within my first semester at Flagler, I enjoyed living in my residence hall. I met wonderful lifelong friends that I will cherish. The dining hall is in the same building. We also are within walking distance to all of our classes.

Overall, this has been a GREAT freshman year experience. My hall is located in a perfect spot that let's me have access to everything so easily. The people are nice, my RA's are amazing and so helpful.

I love living in Ponce! The rooms are all so unique and beautiful. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors conversations if they're talking loud enough, but at least you know who's talking bad about you. The most beautiful dorms on campus, I'm sad I won't be able to live here next year because I won't be a freshman.

It is a gorgeous building. The air is always on full blast and cannot be controlled. But it is a great sized room and very pretty building with a great location to academic buildings and in the town of St. Augustine.

The location is amazing, downtown Saint Augustine. The RA's are fairly strict so hall ways and dorms are kept clean and satisfactory for neighbors. My dorm had termites really bad, noticed in walls and on floor, but I quess thats what happens living in the south.
