Sonora Apartments Dorm Reviews at GCU

I am currently a junior and this is my 2nd year living in Sonora Apartments at GCU. My experience in these apartments have been great and I would definitely recommend to anyone, as the building is coed. The RAs on each floor are very caring and they take the time to get to know everyone. They also make the effort to create fun activities to get to know everyone that lives on each floor. I feel very safe here and welcomed here. I am very thankful to be able to have the opportunity to leave my home state to come to Arizona to live in a clean, welcoming dorm. The dorms display a home feeling, which is the best, especially since I was nervous moving away from home to continue my academics. The dorms also provide places for quiet studying and activities to do.

Sonora Apartments are kept clean and tidy. The layout of the apartment is a little weird and is not like a usual apartment so it is hard to make it feel homely. The walls are very thin, and you can hear your neighbors very easily.

When I first moved into Grand Canyon University, I was in a pretty typical dorm room, I had a roommate and two suite mates. We all got a long very well and even hang out pretty often. Due to COVID, we received an email stating that we would be moved into Sonora(an apartment on campus), we did not really think much of it until we seen it! Kitchen, living room, and we each get our own rooms and there are two bathrooms instead of 1! We definitely received a major upgrade!
