University Commons Dorm Reviews at Georgia State

When I first stepped on to University Commons, I could smell the fresh college smell. I was very excited to move out of my parents house and commons was a great place for me to further my education and I am blessed to meet some great friends.

My experience at University Commons was not the best , but I had the best roommates and people that I met outside of my room was also nice. When I first moved in all of the RA's was nice and really helpful.

The University Commons was a modern and safe environment. The dorm is within an urban area so there are many non-students on the campus. The university also holds plenty of social events that are free and diverse.

Due to coronavirus Georgia State University has taken every precaution necessary to make sure that students do not contract the disease while living on campus. They have also set up an incubation area at Piedmont North along with free testing to assure that students do not contract coronavirus while living on campus

Commons is in a very convenient place for on campus living. But, when I moved in it was dirty. Thankfully, I bought my own cleaning supplies to clean things up with. Rooms are nice, apartment style. Kitchen is a decent size. I recommend Commons because it is a great place to meet people especially for your first years at GSU!

Overall, my experience at University Commons had been great. Although the trash room on the second floor can smell really bad sometimes, I have not had many other issues. There is usually two front desk workers during the day and around four at night. To enter the building you must have a white access card and show your PantherID. Due to COVID-19 they have taken extra precautions and we are not allowed visitors and mask are mandatory. I love the area and would recommend this school to anyone. Yes, there are homeless people, but they are harmless and they have never contacted my.

The University commons is a quiet and well kept dorm that gives me privacy and comfort. It’s the best dorm space at Georgia State University! I would recommend this place to any friends or family that wants to attend Georgia state university.

Almost like a place I can call home. At the moment, I'm living in a dorm room by myself due to COVID-19. Still, I'm enjoying the seclusion and the space to focus on my online classes and personal growth. Though we're trying to socially distance, I do have the opportunity to hang out with people in the building and outside, so I enjoy the convenience of being near friends and classmates.

Commons is okay. It is one of the older dorms so there is not much to expect. My experience was very average there. There is a weird and different smell in commons almost every day. I would most likely choose another dorm if I could.

Being able to live in University Commons is nice because I have a full kitchen in my suite, but the elevators will also get stuck and not go up, which is inconvenient. The laundry rooms also aren't great because many of the machines will go out of service and not be repaired for a long time. But, on my floor, my neighbors are quiet, and they respect the quiet hours on our floor. My roommates are also clean and respectful of my stuff, and I am respectful of their things as well.

In prior years, my experience has been pretty well. It has gone down however, in response to the pandemic. I do not like how our university/housing is handling it in terms of safety measures and requirements.

It was not what I was expecting it is very crowded and I chose to switch to the lofts which I love its quiet and not as many younger students. The commons is great for a freshman or sophomore, but when you are ready to be more focused on your studies this would not be the place to live its more of a party scene.

I love living on campus here! The all night cafeteria has simply amazing food and great choices. There are ping pong tables, televisions, and quiet common areas to study. The dorms are newly renovated and clean! I would highly recommend this sorm

University Commons is an excellent experience for college students looking for a dormitory here at Georgia State! With a kitchen, spacious common areas, and ease of access to classes with its nearby location, the Commons has been a fabulous place to live. I haven't had any issues that were not able to be resolved by either Resident Assistance or a Maintenance request. The rooms have been quite small in my opinion, with desk and tables taking up a large part of the space. However, this isn't a deal-breaking choice, as the dorm rooms have enough space to remain comfortable. The GSU police headquarters is right outside of Commons, as well as the University Clinic, providing both medical access and law enforcement within easy reach.
