Stuyvesant Hall Dorm Reviews at Hofstra

Great place for a first year. RAs and RD are super and compassionate. Close to dining options and classrooms, decent furniture, though bring a mattress pad for the bed. Views aren't great but overall a nice place to live!

Stuyvesant has a huge cockroach problem and the fire alarms are extremely sensitive so they go off a lot. The front door is almost always broken and the elevator is always messy. Our mirror fell off the wall and shattered because it was held on by stickers. The mirror broke a hole in the sink and they taped the sink up. All the heater are broken and the doors are loud.

Pleasant, clean, and generally easy-going. Best place to live on Hofstra's campus. Reserved only for freshman, but if you have the chance to live there take it. Location is close access to all campus ammenities.

My Fall 2020 semester at Stuyvesant Hall was alright. When I first arrived my bathroom smelt very bad and the shower was dirty so I had to get down on my knees and scrub it with a cloth. The lounge room chairs are somewhat dirty and could be better if someone cleaned them. As a black African-American female I had to deal with racism (from my own suite mates) and lots of other drama my first month there. Other than that, Stuyvesant has really big rooms and is very close to the dining hall and where your classes will be. It is not too far from anything so you can reach your classes on time and catch the bus on time to because they stop right in front or next to the building.

It’s been a blast, each floor is different as far as noise level and amount of people who hang out together. The fire alarm goes off way too easily. Great location on campus but be careful parking in lot out front, cars get hit pretty often.

The location in Stuyvesant is very pleasant as it is easy to get to the student center and nearby classes. The parking lots at the hall is also very accessible as it is right besides the student center and the cafeteria.

I'm grateful for Stuyvesant Hall. It has a lot of storage and closet space. It's the best hall on campus. It's really close to the student center where all the food is and the bookstore. It's not too far from the academic side of campus either. It reminds me of a hotel and I really love the set up.

It was great! Met very nice people. The cleanliness is amazing and they are taking COVID-19 safety really serious. RA's are always sending out important information and are making sure the residents feel safe.
