Even though ikenberry is no longer there, I had the most amazing time ever in that dorm. The village at JMU is the best place to live on campus because of the location, and the people who choose to reside there. There was never a dull moment and I met my now best friends while living there.

I lived there for all of the first semester and due to COVID almost never left the building. The noise was never enough for me to feel any aggression towards anyone but with my ADHD I found it ridiculously hard to focus at times. One thing many students worry about in terms of noise is the train but in reality, it is not around long enough or loud enough to cause issues. While Ikenberry is old it holds up to the other village dorms but it does not compare to the housing on the quad, hillside, or East Campus. The last thing to note is that the Residential advisors were not very helpful in keeping the environment safe or quiet. At one point one of our RA's stopped coming to our floor to quiet the other people because she had a crush on one of the boys.

Ikenberry is right next to D hub which was nice when I wanted to get food. However, it was at the edge of campus so it was difficult to get to a lot of my classes on time. If you are a STEM major it will be tiring to walk up the hills like I had to do everyday.
