Shenandoah Hall Dorm Reviews at James Madison

My experience at Shenandoah so far has been overly positive! The staff keeps everything nice and clean and the students on my floor are all very interactive and helpful, as well as my RAs. We also leave notes for the staff, which make me smile whenever I see them. The air conditioning works and the furniture had no damage when I initially moved in. I have had no problems so far living here, and I would recommend it to everyone. The only downside is that it is far from the rest of campus, but it is worth it in my opinion if it means I can have nicer and newer dorms.

Shenandoah Hall was a really good dorm to stay in, especially for it being close to UREC and 2 dining halls. Its clean has AC, and east campus is the nicest part of campus. I had lots of fun in Shenandoah even with COVID, and I recommend it if you don't want the chaos in the Village.

The maintenance and housekeeping workers were all exceptional, and the building itself was in good shape. Noise travels through the hall, which is to be expected. Overall, with it being an honors college dorm, I felt that the atmosphere was a lot calmer and focused than other dorms. The location is fairly separate from other parts of campus, which is a downside, but the views on east campus are unbeatable.

The hinges on the bathroom doors suddenly were unable to keep the doors from slamming, and therefore you hear banging at all hours of the night. Otherwise my complaints are mostly to do with the people on my hall.

It was amazing! The hall has Air Conditioning and the rooms are spacious. The bathrooms are communal for the floor which isn't always great. The hall is clean and quiet. The location is ideal for STEM majors.

I loved living in Shenandoah Hall. This hall is usually reserved for the students in the honors college but my roommate was in the honors college so I got to experience the building for my freshman year. Therefore, the hall is very calm and quiet, and not much happens there in comparison to the other halls.

Shenandoh Hall wasn't noisy. The rooms were good size. The staff kept the hall bath and common areas clean. I liked the design for there was a tv lounge, a study room with a white board and a study room with a few cubicles on each floor. The location is great for biology, physics, and chemistry majors since the phys/chem building is a very short walking distance away. It is also right in front of one of the university's convience stores & one of their major dining halls. Overall, Shenandoh Hall was a great experience as I resided in that dorm all 3 years of college.
