Transitional Hall Dorm Reviews at Jackson State

Transitional hall is the only suit style all female dorm that is on Jackson state university campuse . The dorm is a jack and jill styles with 4 or 3 students sharing a bathroom. On the first floor there isnt any air but it stays very cool. On the other three floors there is a very strong air flow. The plus is that being on the other three floors you have the option of taking the stairs or using the two elevators offered. There isnt a study room on the first floor but you have the opportunity to us the room on the other three floors that offer a cozy everment to study. Lastly the safety is pretty great with campuse police patrolling at all hours at night and the only way to get into the dorm with you having to swipe your id.

It was great, the people where nice and it was very clean. When I entered the building I could tell that it was newer than the other residences and it had updated living areas. Once I entered my dorm room it was bigger than I thought it would be and came with more necessities than I thought it would.

My roommates are very nice l met new friends everyone is very friendly and l get along with everyone. The noise level is to my liking and I'm able to get stuff done when l need to the RA's are very nice and respectful and also very understanding.

Since it's mostly freshmen living there, it's a hot mess more often than not. BUT if you can grab a room on the top floor, I think the living experience will be okay! The outer halls and stuff are clean thanks to the custodians, and depending on who your RA is it'll stay that way. Just don't be one of those people who stink up the hall with your trash.

Transitional Hall dorm is a really good living area as a college freshman. You have your own private bathroom and privacy. The building is mostly quiet. Maintenance could be better, but overall things are good.

My experience was okay. It was a really hard transition going from sleeping in my own room to sharing a room with someone I didn’t know at all. I believe that the staff could have done a better job as a whole, but it’s not the worst place I’ve seen.

My experience at Transitional Hall was a great one for the most part. I enjoyed not having community-style bathrooms. My suitemates were not the best people to share a bathroom with, but overall the bathrooms were good. My roommate was my best-friend so being in the room worked out perfectly. We both had our own separate sides of the room, so we were not in each others way. With the pandemic going on, we constantly had cleaning crews coming around to sanitize, so that was definitely a bonus.

My experience overall at transitional is good, they just need better assistance in matnience and they need to fix the air controls sometimes it’s to cold or to hot they also need to fix the lighting because it’s very dimmed.
