Snowden Hall Dorm Reviews at J & W

My room is to small but can’t complain since dorms are meant to be that way. I just wish the heater worked because Im always freezing. The staff is friendly and always greet you. Wish they hosted more RA events

Snowden Hall is down city/ downtown so it has a city vibe and is a lively area of Providence. It is close to many restaurants and Providence Place Mall. It is also near bus stations and train stations which gives people easy access to transportation. Compared to Harborside which is more secluded and enclosed, Snowden shares Gaebe Commons with McNulty Hall which is another residence Hall strictly for freshman. Not to mention, This hall has many people from different graduating years. Snowden Hall also has a Cafe and Market that is also shared with the residents in McNulty. Lastly, Snowden has private bathrooms which I think is nice.

Snowden Hall was an experience because you share your roommate which i've never done before. There were nice people who I was friends with both on my floor and in the entire building, but gradually you end up making a lot of friends. There were some cons to living at Snowden Hall there were rodents that would be in the trash rooms and that honestly freaked me out, and other students as well. There were no traps to catch them either which is scary because they are fast and can squeeze into anything so you obliviously didn't want them to go in your room.

Snowden was a fun experience, there were lots of people with whom I've gotten along well. There's a pretty view of the water or city if you're lucky, only downside is my room got super cold when it was cold outside.

The RA's gave a lot of attitude at times and the one for my specific floor did not care about what the other residents did. They would yell at all hours of the day (even at 4 in the morning) and would constantly be knocking on doors then running away. They would be yelling down the hallways and even in the common area for that floor (my room was right next to the common area). I liked the private bathrooms and the amount of space was nice.

I stayed at Snowden for two years and they were both great. The only thing that I would have to bring up would be that there is a lot of theft that goes around. A part has to do cause people sometimes forget to lock their doors, but at the same time there are no sorts of security support also. Nobody can help you when this happens, but its still a nice place to live at; as long as you lock your doors.

It was fun but it was loud. Perfect dorm for new students. Would not want to be there past a freshman or sophomore though. Really small room, I could hold my roommate's hand from my bed. I have really longs arms tho. PRO: have your own BR & college experience CONS: expensive/dirty I had the nicest dorm out of all of my friends from home who went to other colleges though!

Fantastic! I couldn't ask for more. Staff is friendly and helpful, maintenance is quick, everything is accessible, and the location is great. I love being so close to food, campus buildings, and the bus stop.
