Monroe Hall Dorm Reviews at Lamar

I live in Monroe Hall, It is clean, quiet, and you can read in your room. Besides, it is close to the school library, lecture halls and to the dinning hall. The security is top notch, as there is a effective assess control in place, all residents have an assess card. Non residents can not entered the dormitory without an invitation from a resident, living in the dormitory. The room is spacious, and there is a reading chair and a desk/table. There is also a sitting room for your guests. There is laundry on each floor and a common kitchen, where you can cook, if you do not want to go to the dinning hall.

It is one of the nicest ands quietest dorms on campus. I love the privacy that comes with the dorm rooms! It is only you and 1 other person in the dorm room. You get your own individual bedroom, which is unlike any other dorms I have visited. The only areas you have to share are the living room and the bathroom.

It was noisy but in a great location. There is a basketball court right next to it making it difficult to maintain quiet. You also have to walk to the washers and dryers as they are in a different building.

Very nice freshman dorm. Great people and hard-working staff. Excellent view from higher floors. Common areas are good social locations. Kitchens on certain floors are very helpful for washing and cooking.

I had an amazing experience living in Monroe as a Freshman. It is a Co- Ed dorm and my floor was fortunate enough to have a common room to help me get close with my floor and make friends my first year.

Monroe was absolutely disgusting to live in. There was so much mold growing in there that I had an upper respiratory infection for three months. The ONLY benefit of Monroe was how social it was and that it is the biggest dorm on campus, allowing freshmen to meet lots of new people.

My experience at Monroe Hall has been mainly great! The RA’s and security staff are really nice. I definitely feel the most safe at Monroe Hall. I like how our bathrooms and living rooms are bigger than the ones in Gentry Hall. I would say the only con about living in Monroe Hall is there tend to be stray cats and possums on the first floor.
