Benjamin S. Ruffin Hall Dorm Reviews at NCCU

My experience at Ruffin has been great so far! When I initially moved in, I didn't have to do much cleaning, but I ensured the place was thoroughly sanitized. The bedrooms are quite small, but I think it's worth it because our living space is great! We have roommate movie nights, we study in there, and it's overall a homey environment that has made my college transition significantly easier. My RA went to the same high school as me, and overall I'd say it's a great experience. Not to mention, the building my classes are in is right behind Ruffin. The only downside is maintenance doesn't respond very quickly. At the moment, our AC is broken, we either have to turn the air on or off we can't set one temperature. Our toilet also runs constantly, so it flushes automatically. Thankfully these aren't urgent issues, but if maintenance responded quicker living in Ruffin would be perfect!

Ruffin is a good dormitory, it’s different than the freshman dormitories. It’s suite style so you have to share with other people and make sure that you are taking care of your space. It’s really fun.

Benjamin Ruffin is a suite style room. I enjoyed my first semester staying in that suite. The walls between each room are thin so it forces you to hear loud music and talking from next door. Since the four people in the suite all share one bathroom id recommend finding roomies that you know will clean up after themselves.
