It is very convenient that anyone can get into the building at any time, however it does not make me feel especially safe. The staff here is very lovely, and I'm always getting a chance to talk with them. The maintenance crew are very quick with getting things done around here, especially in terms of safety. more

Wolf Village

It was cleaned when I moved in. My roomates were really nice. I got along with them very well. We had a pretty good system of taking out trash. My room was small but that was expected. There was a bus that picked up students right in front. There was always parking. I felt very safe however the doors to the apartments did not lock until around 7pm so anyone could at least walk into the lobby at this time. The location was great because we are right off of western blvd with all of the fast food restaurants and grocery stores and gas stations. more

You can hear the residents below you through the vent system which can be annoying when trying to sleep. The bathrooms are typically maintained and well cleaned. I liked being close to my classes rather than having to take a bus. more

Metcalf Hall

Who is on your floor, your suite mates, and roommate will determine how much you enjoy the residence hall. Maintenance is quick and efficient after putting in a work order. The residence hall is also in a convenient spot on campus. I will say that since it is in the most public area of campus it can get loud at night and early in the mornings sometimes. There is also a train that passes by often. more

Avent Ferry Complex

Avent Ferry was a great place to live! I lived in both the Ocracoke and Fort Fisher buildings over the course of two years. Each room (either single or double) has its own bathroom where the shower and toilet are in its own room with a vanity (with a sink) right outside. The rooms come furnished with high quality furniture. Getting mail was super easy as it would go right to the service desk (open 8am - 8pm) and you could usually pick it up within 15 minutes of delivery. It is in a great location right on the edge of main campus, in between main and Centennial campus. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would do it again! more

Turlington Hall

Turlington is in a fantastic location! Next to Talley Student Union, Carmicheal Gym, equidistance to the two main dining halls, near the library, and a 15 min max walk to even the farthest classes on main campus. It's home to the Arts Village, which I LOVE, but it sure is a different demographic than the rest of the university. The staff are wonderful and keep our bathrooms well maintained. We also have sinks in each rooms, which isn't always a guarantee (crazy, right?). more

The price is decent which I really need as a college student, but when issues come up (like cracks in the wall or oven problems) it is very difficult to get someone to come fix it. However, considering that it is very close to campus and that it is under $600 for me to rent a room, I know it’s not horrible. I live with one roommate, so we split the $1125 cost more

half filled dorm only for sophomores and above, a dream for the average mildly ashamed student living in a dorm on their second year. Had a room to myself with only one roommate. Large fridge and sink included. more

Bagwell Hall

I have lived in this building for 2 years now and absolutely love it! There is a studious atmosphere of the living learning village which is great for academics. There is also almost always something to do! The location is close enough to the student union where it is about a 4 minute walk but far enough away from the noise of central campus. Love it here! more

Berry Residence Hall

Berry is a smaller dorm, it tends to be clean and quiet. Some of the larger dorms have fire alarms pulled regularly in the middle of the night, but we've never had that happen. The RAs are engaging and we have nice community activities. more

Wolf Ridge

Overall it was good except for the fire alarms going off constantly. It was really clean and convenient to the library. Also the clinic was really really great. Most people didn't use the common areas inside but outside people used them a lot more and they were really nice. Public transit is really great for the university and in general. more
