I absolutely loved being in Oceanview. The staff was amazing and I made so many lifelong friends there. Sadly, last year I had a really bad roommate situation in Oceanview. My roommate was a very passive-aggressive person and never confronted me about anything in person, she harassed me over text instead. We got into a huge fight about something stupid that could have been solved if she just talked to me instead of acting like everything was fine when I was in the room and then harass me over text when I left. I got so tired of the tension I decided to go home for a weekend. When I got back, I found my bed covered in FunDip sugar because she was upset that I did not want a cat in the dorm room. She also decided to open all of my water bottles and put lemon juice in them without me knowing. After this I truly did not feel safe living with her, I voiced my concerns to the RA and the residence director at the time and they helped me out so much. They made her move out of the room as soon as they could find an empty room. I am so grateful for the way they helped me with this situation.
For anyone thinking about living in Oceanview Hall, I would recommend trying to figure out who you want to room with through Facebook or Instagram instead of rooming with random strangers. That way you can avoid any having a bad roommate experience.
