Trillium is one of the newest buildings on campus, and it is very modern and usually clean. I loved the personal bathrooms and showers. However, I know there was an issue with mold at the end of the year and many students had to be evacuated.

Oh man! Where do I get started? Modern, unique, and incredibly refined Trillium is everything a freshman could need. It is well kept and well lit by the hundreds of windows that let in all that natural light. There are plenty of cozy nooks to spend the afternoon reading. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Trillium is also designed in such a way that enables connection between your floor peers. On every floor there are social central points that naturally all individuals gravitate to (ex. a kitchen in the middle of all the rooms). This makes making friends as an incoming student a whole lot easier. You just run into your floor mates and start up a great conversation. This is very wonderful for the shy introverts like me. Location is decent. Although you may be located a little further away from classrooms, you have hiking trails and tons of stores/coffee shops to go to. Just about five minutes down the road you have a twenty-four hour 7/11 and a local run coffee shop on the opposing corner. These two are great for any midnight munchies you get when studying. The dorm rooms will always have a multi-level book shelf, a bed, a wide desk and accompanying drawers, a dresser (under the bed), a chair, and a VERY spacious closet. This one actually surprised me as my closet at home is smaller than the one at Reed! There are a couple of issues. Sometimes if you are on the higher floors the water temperature may be inconsistent at times and you may have electrical issues. However, Reed makes sure that you have help from maintenance 24/7 just in case something goes wrong. They are very responsive. Overall, a fantastic dorm that I would highly recommend. I guarantee that you will feel at home!

Overall the dorm is incredibly nice and modern. It is very clean and airy. The staff do great at managing the dorm and it has plenty of cozy spots perfect for the afternoon read! Although the water temperature on the upper floors can sometimes be inconsistent. But, it is a fantastic first-year dorm! The way the halls are designed, they intentionally bring people together into one space to interact. It’s a perfect design to make freshies gain some friends. I am very close to many of my floor mates. The kitchen is definitely one of the major hang out points. The views are generally great. From my window at least you can see the mountains and watch the sunset every day. Although located a little further away from the classroom buildings, there are hiking trails and stores/coffee shops nearby. This includes a twenty four hour 7/11 just on the corner down from the road and a small local run coffee shop just on the opposing corner. These are both great if you want a midnight snack when studying late. Single rooms are a little snug and the doubles do not offer as much privacy as you’d expect from gazing at the floor plans. However, it’s a college dorm room. Small rooms and no privacy are just part of the freshman initiation process, haha! The small rooms feel better because the ceilings are VERY tall. It also feels bigger because of how much natural light comes into the rooms. Hope this helps! Overall rating: 4.5/5 :)
