Preston College

Preston has been amazing. Its right across from the main library and the fountain, its right next to Russel House which has a bunch of different food options, its on the main street where so many spirit events happen, and its centered around a lot of my classes. Not only is the location great but the community and people here are so nice. I have met a lot of people in my dorm that I feel comfortable around and that I can visit. The staff here are also so sweet, always asking how you are doing. They host a lot of Preston only events from chances to speak with important people that can help you in your major to late night cookies that you can go get from the principal. The rooms here are spacious and have plenty of room for storage, clothing, etc. Overall, I feel Preston is the best choice I could have made. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. more

Honors College Residence Hall

I loved living there. The location was perfect. It was close to the heart of campus, and there was a dining hall in the dorm. It was the perfect first year dorm. The worst part was the bathrooms but even that wasn't too bad. It wasn't communal or anything. I loved the abundance of private study rooms on each hall, which made studying convenient. Overall great experience. more

The University had too many freshmen to live in the dorms so they opened up Younion to incoming freshmen last year. It was a bit of a walk to campus but the walk-in closet was worth it. Having my own room and kitchen to cook in was nice. more

Wade Hampton Hall

I enjoyed my time at Wade Hampton Hall. It's an all-girls hall (if people are concerned about that) but the rooms were clean. I lived on the first floor and didn't have to share a bathroom with anyone other than my roommate which I appreciated. more

Bates West

It is an "ok" apartment style dorm that holds 4 residents. Its bathroom is pretty small, but if you have a bathroom plan with your suite mates everything is all good. The main space has a lot space that you can put many things and decorate it. The kitchen is a very nice addition with there being a stove and a fridge which provides many opportunities for cooking and other things. more

Greene Crossing Apart

As a freshman at the University of South Carolina, it is very interesting to be put into an apartment building. I went random with my roommates and I love living with them. Also having our own rooms and bathrooms, as well as a kitchen, living room, and balcony, is so nice! The only downside is that it is pretty far from the school and Russell House which is where the meal swipes are used most frequently as freshman. But, thankfully, there is a shuttle right to campus. more

Womens Quad

Womens quads was in a great location as it was at the center of everything. It was very close to the library and food. Never felt unsafe walking in outside in the middle of the night. Staff in the dorms always kept the build clean and organized. more

My experience in Wade Hampton has been rough. Mainly because I have had bad roommates. But, the dorm itself is wonderful. It is so clean and structured. I like that the dorm will get together and do fun activities. I love living here. more

The cleaning staff at Maxcy go above and beyond to make sure that students can always enter a clean and welcoming environment. The RA's make sure that students are being safe and help when they can. The staff make sure to be inclusive to all residents and hold several events to include everyone. more

Bates House

Only issue is the dorm is old. Smells and has mold. SC is a humid climate, but the mold is pretty bad. I have an air purifier and damp rid and so does almost everyone in the dorms. I have been sick 3 times and its only been 1.5 months. So many food options in my dorm and neighboring dorms. Next to the shuttle and the common areas near me are a lot of fun. So many activities for our dorm and for our School. more
