South Campus Plaza South Tower Dorm Reviews at SDSU

Upon arrival, moving into the dorm typically involves a mix of excitement and nervousness. The dorm's atmosphere is often a blend of bustling activity and moments of solitude. The people on my floor not only are my friends but I consider them family with the bonds that I have created this fall semester.

During my time in this dorm I was a part of the Nuestra Casa community, which I highly recommend applying to. I was extremely happy with this dorm as every room had its own bathroom and my roommates were wonderful. I would always hear how loud and dirty and smelly most of the other dorms were and it would increase how grateful I was to have gotten South Campus Plaza as my dorm building.

South Campus Plaza South is one of the best freshman dorms at SDSU. The rooms and building were clean, and the staff was very nice. Plus, it is hard to beat the spacious rooms and the ensuite bathrooms. The location is prime, with it being above many restaurants and so close to the student union. The only major con is the noise. Being right on College Ave is already noisy, but there was additional construction on the other side of the building as well.

Overall the dorms were extremely nice compared to most other dorms across the nation. The rooms all came with one bathroom and one sink per room. This was greatest perk because you don't have to worry about the nasty community bathrooms in other dorms. The entire building is nice and still fairly new.

South Campus Plaza South Tower has friendly staff that answer your questions promptly. The building is near several dining locations and parking facilities. The second floor smells a little bit but it is not overwhelming. Some of the laundry machines don't work. The kitchen is nice. The printer is sometimes not working which means you need to go to other places on campus to print. Bathrooms are clean.

I lived at Chappy for my first few months and it was horrible, would have been 1 star for everything but then I moved to South Campus and it was night and day. It completely changed my experience of college. The staff was all really nice and the building was so much nicer and newer than my previous dorm. It was more centrally located, making it safer and had way better food option. My room was twice the size of my old room which was amazing and had it's own bathroom. South Campus was the best.

I really enjoyed it, the only problem was that it was almost too quiet and hard to make friends on your floor because the dorm is very new and the common areas are spaced out. We were not encouraged to hang out in the common areas so people were often in their own rooms and did not mingle much. Additionally, although it is really nice having your own bathroom in your room, you miss out on some of the college experience or sharing a common bathroom.
