Barker Hall Dorm Reviews at Simpson

I wish bathrooms stayed cleaner, however, it’s usually pretty quiet during the day and at night. It’s also a very good walking distance to everywhere on campus, usually can get to my furthest class in 3-4 minutes.

Barker hall was a great place to live as a first year student. All of my teammates were there and it was wonderful. I just wish the bathrooms were cleaner. But other than that it is a great place to live!

Barker is one of the two First-Year Residential Buildings at Simpson College. The staff is super friendly and the building is pretty quiet for the most part. It can get to be loud on weekends. In my experience, this year while living on the second floor of the building, the boys' rooms above me were quite noisy, so I would suggest requesting to live on the first floor.

My experience has been good considering we are in a pandemic, however at times the third floor can be loud which is annoying when you are trying to sleep. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly but it can get very hot when a lot of people have been showering, so most of the day.
