Kresge Hall Dorm Reviews at Simpson

Kresge is viewed as the worst of the of the freshman dorms, but I have heard more people complain about Barker. Everyone in Barker are good people, and the staff at Simpson do a good job fixing things that are broke.

Kresge fulfilled the basic needs of a dorm hall without going anywhere beyond what was excepted. Maintenace and plumbing issues were pretty annoying but with them replacing the plumbing over the summer that should hopefully be a solved issue.

I was on the first floor, right next to the entrance. The location on campus was the best part. I didn't have any issues with the bathrooms, however my second year they had quite a bit. Air conditioner and heat in some rooms didn't work and when I was there there were reports of mold on the second floor.

Kresge Hall is a first-year dorm that is close to all the campus buildings. Although the common rooms are a decent size, the basement has many activities (pool table, ping pong table, tv, etc...) to offer students when bored. I have had a pretty good experience with Kresge Hall! The only thing that needs an update is their bathrooms!

I lived on the first floor so there was always a lot of traffic at all times. This also made it a little messier and less private. My room itself was fine, a little small but okay for two people. I was really happy I did not have to move my things up stairs because the other freshman dorm has an elevator and Kresge doesn’t. Overall I had a good experience, there were only a few things I didn’t like: the bathrooms seemed dirty though they were cleaned constantly, the heavy traffic in the hallways (especially at night), and my CA ( I just didn’t like her haha).

Kresge was a welcoming environment of friendly CA's and students. Everyone keeps their space clean and manages their own business well. It is a great location close to dining and classes and has a homey feeling for whoever makes it there's.
