Loyd Commons Dorm Reviews at SMU

The rooms are very nice but they are kind of small and you can hear a lot of what is going on in the other rooms. The bathrooms are very close but for how much living here cost I would think you could have your own bathroom.

I am a current resident at SMU and I appreciate my dorm for what it is. We do have some hit or misses with loud residents, and some RA's don't take their job quite as seriously as others, but they do care about our safety for the most part. Our Residential Commons Director takes his job incredibly seriously and really cares about the students and their well being. He is capable and handles all his work with proficiency and accuracy. Our dorm is one of the nicer ones on campus, so it has larger bathrooms, newer equipment, and larger rooms. We are one of the closest dorms to Arnold, our South quad cafeteria, which is also convenient.

I loved living in Loyd. I felt very safe, the common areas were constantly cleaned, and the overall community felt very comforting. I met many people who lived in Loyd, which was a very big plus during my sophomore year.
