Shasta Hall Dorm Reviews at SOU

Shasta was a huge dorm and I loved my bedroom that I shared with a roommate. The room and bathroom was very spacious and felt like my own space. I enjoyed not having communal bathrooms and it worked well to share with the room next door. We had a few maintenance problems and most of the time they got fixed, but it did take a bit of nudging to get them to hear back from them quickly.

It was a nice place to live during the school year but was somewhat on the smaller side. If you don't have a lot of stuff and don't mind living closely with your roommate, then this is the perfect situation.

Itβs really nice dorms and well maintained but really pricey. The bathrooms are really nice and you have lots of space for your side of the room. You have a wall in the middle to separate you and your roommate which is also very nice, with a good size closet.

My experience has been awesome. Now with Covid, it's definitely put a damper on things, but lucky for people that stay in the Shasta hall, you have a bathroom all to your and your roommates. The RA's are super sweet and the dorm hall is super close to the classrooms, the REC center, and the dining hall. the size of the rooms are great and the additional study lounges are really awesome to utilize as well. I love it here.

It was really fun. I really enjoyed my freshman year experience in my dorm. I wasnβt too close with my roommate, but the great thing about being in a dorm is that I was super close to my other friends and I could just go to their rooms and hangout with them. My friends and I also hung out in the lobby/common room areas and we would play video games and watch movies where other people would continuously join us. Sometimes we would even sing and play guitar and I would hear people singing along with us as they walk down the halls.

Sometimes it gets loud and nobody really does anything about it. Also my toilet is messed up randomly, but overall it is pretty good. People are mostly good people and it's pretty laid back. I would stay here again.

Shasta Hall is a very pleasant place to live. The people are friendly, it's often quiet and serves as an excellent place to study. The village is the perfect blend between urban and rural. The area is rural enough where deer and raccoons are very common sights, but it's also urban enough to be only a few miles away from downtown. All of this together brings me peace of mind that not even being home can achieve.

Could not have asked for a better dorm experience. Okay maybe I could have done without the never ending fire alarms in the middle of the night but all in all it really was a great experience. A welcoming diverse community.

My time in Shasta Hall was a great experience! There was times when some residents were a bit loud but overall I wouldn't take it back. It was an experience I thought necessary for my college experience. My goal was to make the most of my college experience and I did!
