Pine Grove Dorm Reviews at SVSU

Staying at Pine Grove was a nice experience. The distance to campus wasn't far and there was this feeling of community and engagement. There were monthly checks for cleanliness and my roommates were amazing.

While staying at pine grove for one year of my college career, it was the worst dorm I stayed in. They made it seem like you would have your own room, but when you get there you have a roommate in a really small room, where if you were on the beds you can easily reach out and touch each other. Only good thing was the common space. It had a nice size pantry where everyone had room to put they groceries and items. It was far from any other dorms and buildings on campus. If you didn’t really want people knowing where you stay or ever be bothered then it would be perfect. It did have problem with bugs as well.

I've heard Pine Grove being compared to a Hospice place, just because it's very quiet. Pine Grove is the furthest residential dorms at SVSU, it's about a 5-10 minute walk to Gilbertson, then at least 15-20 minute walk to the main campus, and 25 minute walk to the other residential dorms. If you like the peace and quiet, as well as nature trails and beautiful sunsets, then Pine Grove is the place for you. If you want noise and parties, then University Village would be a better option for you.

I adored living on campus. My roommates and I had plenty of room, we felt safe, and the surroundings were beautiful. I lived on campus for all four years of my degree and I would not trade the experience for anything.
