Olson Hall Dorm Reviews at Taylor

I love the environment living in Olson! Itβs an older building so it doesnβt have air conditioning but itβs does have heat. The lobby downstairs is large enough for big groups and there is a full kitchen accessible at all time. Itβs a stairs-only building 3 stories tall with two wings on each floor. The rooms are probably on the smaller side but very doable since you can arrange the provided furniture however you want. The staff does a great job of keeping the halls and bathrooms cleaned + stocked. There is no mildew or mold from what I have seen. Overall I love living Olson and will stay there my whole time at Taylor!

First, to explain the demographic of many students residing in Olson Hall are legacy students whose parents and/or grandparents have graduated from Taylor University. A lot of their families are generationally familiar with the school. I fortunately did not have a hard time fitting into the community because I went to a Christian high school. Otherwise, I would've had a harder time making friends. Ladies here are often girly-girls who can be obnoxious sometimes. Some events are strange; one example is that they wake you up really early one morning around Christmas with gongs, pots, and pans. I just wanted to sleep. Other events are pleasant though and very lovely staff. I must say, no AC was rough.
