James S White Hall Dorm Reviews at Temple

I like living in White Hall the only problem that I have with it is that its a little walk from campus and it take more longer to get to my classes but other than that I love it here. White hall is where i made most of my college friends from so im happy about that and its a god dorm nothing bad never happens here thats why I love it.

I believe it was better than what most people have said on websites like reddit. My floor was quiet most of the time and I was able to focus on school work and play video games with my roommate and friends.

It was not a great example experience. It was not in a safe location. The hallways were never very clean. The staff was nice but that’s about it. The dorms are a good size. I have seen mice, rats, and cock roaches in the dorms. I did not like it there.

I think this dorm is a good fit for those who have a good relationship with their roommates and have similar lifestyles. I unfortunately did not have that experience but enjoyed the suite style dorms this hall had to offer. This dorm is a farther walk from campus even though it is on campus, it took me at least 20 minutes to walk to my classes. I wish this dorm was closer to campus and had more opportunities to mingle with other dorms. I would recommend living on the 3rd or 4th floor to have a slightly quieter experience because this dorm is located on Broad Street. For a first-year experience, this dorm was the perfect amount of space and did not feel cramped.

White Hall was not the best experience. I only stayed there for three weeks due to Covid. Within those weeks there was something wrong with the pipes and water would not come out of our shower, then we all had to evacuate the building in the middle of taking a class. It was very loud at White Hall. People were always yelling in the hallway and you could constantly hear street noises. The walk from white hall is also quite far, especially to the Fresh Grocer. When I moved in there were questionable stains on the floor and nothing was ever done about them. The shower is terrible and there is really no shower head, so the pressure is very harsh. I recommend bringing your own shower curtain because the one provided is very small. At first, the mattress I has was so worn out and damaged that it looked more like I was laying in a hammock. After A few days I switched it with the empty mattress in my suitemates room, but that would not have been an option if it were at full capacity.

It was a really good experience to stay at the James S White Hall. It is a cheap and comfy dorm. For people looking for private bathrooms, this is a really good option as it has a half and half bathroom and toilet between 4 or 2 people according to the type of room selected. It also has big study rooms for people to do work outside the room with others. There is also a public bicycle stand right outside the dorm entrance which makes it convenient for transportation or just hanging out with friends. The only negative aspect of this dorm is its location. It is literally the last building of the campus, which might make some people unsafe even though there are proper safety measures available.

When I was there for the Fall semester at Temple, I simply loved it. I loved the people and the RA’s as well. It was a perfect location for me considering where my building was for class. With the location of my resident hall, it only took me about 7 minutes to walk to class. It was the best it could be during these times.

For my abrupt two weeks James S White hall at Temple is merely a starter dorm. If leave after 7:30 in my opinion please have a buddy with you White hall is no to far from the sketchy part of Philly stay safe!
