Frank Franz Hall Dorm Reviews at UAHuntsville

It is very comfortable! Having your own room is quite nice and since it is an honors dorm, it's real quiet and great to just live in. Comes with very fast internet and a nicely furnished common room with every suite.

For incoming honors students, it's definitely worthwhile to live in Franz for your first year. It's tight-knit community helps young freshman branch out and get more comfortable with the campus--I've certainly made some life long friends living their. However, since it's located on the Northern end of campus, it's fairly isolated from pretty much any event that happens of campus. If your an Arts or a Nursing student, you'll have easier time going to classes since their respective buildings are on the north side of campus, but if your an engineering student as roughly 70% of the campus is, it's about 20 to 30 minute walk to your class from Franz (speaking from experience). This also applies to any student run events as most take place at the Union, which is quite a distance away from the dorm. While a great community for any freshman to get into, the trade off is you'll like only be interacting with fellow honors students.

Franz is a great dorm with private bedrooms in 4 person suites. The honors college environment is part of the reason it is such a great dorm. It is the smallest dorm on campus (aside from Bevill) which means everyone knows everyone.

Living in Frank Franz Hall has been a wonderful experience so far. It is the Honors freshmen housing, so I'm surrounded by people just as dedicated to their education as I am. The resident advisors are very helpful and keep the students safe and happy.
