Middle Earth Classic Halls Dorm Reviews at UC Irvine

I'd say the Middle Earth Classic Halls were pretty decent, but they could definitely be improved. As far as I know, the building is not wheelchair accessible since there are many flights of stairs that are very steep. Additionally, the common room is fairly nice since there's a balcony and lots of sunshine comes through. Sometimes it is quiet enough for one to study or do homework. As for the restrooms, I can only speak for the third floor halls, but they were okay. Unfortunately, some residents do not clean up after themselves, so expect for the area to be dirty at times. Overall, I think Middle Earth Classic Halls are just okay and your experience dorming over there really just comes down to who you're living with and how everyone else follows the residency guidelines.

I loved the culture but did not like how old and outdated the dorms were considering the fact that they had new ones just recently built. I feel that all dorms should be upgraded to meet the standards of the newer dorms or lower prices for the students living in the older dorms

I quite enjoyed my first-time housing experience as a freshman at the time; however, I did not enjoy the fact that at nearly midnight or past midnight, students would race into the parking lot located right next to the dorm rooms. And last time, I was told that the housing area didn't have security cameras so that lowered its safety for me by a bit.

My experience at the Middle Earth Classic Halls was incredibly comfortable. There is a supportive environment for those acclimating to the new lifestyle of living alone, far from one's home. I personally enjoyed the quiet in my living area. It helped me stay concentrated on my homework, and this was not achievable where I once lived (in a multi-generational household.) It was also a 5-minute walk to my classes, which was really nice!

It was the best experience I've had at UCI because I had the chance to meet amazing hall mates from various diversity backgrounds. Also, it helps you make long-lasting friends throughout your journey in college. The study rooms, eating commons, and dorms are amazing for what you get. I had a triple where I shared a room with 2 roommates and it was still spacious and room to put any stuff. If I can describe Middle Earth Classic Halls in three words it would be "mesmerizing, relaxing, amusing."

Iβve overall had a good experience so far. I like how the halls are small and home-y so I feel more comfortable. The hall is three stories and there arenβt any elevators, but the stairs arenβt bad and you get your leg workout. Being in the classic halls is also nice because you bond more with the people in the building as opposed to being in the towers.
