Pentland Hills Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at UC Riverside

Overall pretty good, definitely the best in my opinion of the options that there are, if I had to dorm again I'd definitely choose this one again. The area is beautiful, and it's pretty clean, if anything it's just kinda far from campus compared to the others. But personally, I really enjoyed my time there.

During my freshman year, I was really nervous to dorm since my roommates were randomly chosen for me. But it turned out to be a really great experience. Pentland Hills is more on the quiet side but it's really good if you're studious and don't care too much about partying.

Pentland was very personal and, although i lived in a smaller hall, I felt like I had a lot of privacy in my area. It was also well-organized and very spacious. The lounge was very large and allowed for a lot of group activities and the private suite lounges were also well organized and gave a lot of room for chilling out with friends.

The lounges each hallways had made it really easy to make friends. There was always someone hanging out there, and it wasn't intimidating like some of the larger lounges can be. I had a great experience there and I'm still friends with a lot of the people from my building.

Overall the dorm was fine. Would prefer the newer Lothian Resident Hall. The bathroom situation was not always ideal but it was fine. If I were you don't pay more for separate dorms it is not worth it. The walk to the cafeterias was always by far the most annoying part.

Overall, my experience living in Pentland was positive. I had the opportunity to talk to some of the cleaning staff and they were always friendly. The shared restrooms were always clean as well and for the most part, it was not noisy.

Rooms were way too cramped and stuffy, ventilation was bad. No reason for a triple dorm to be the same size as a double. Furniture in common areas were way too dirty and looked like it has never been cleaned before. Whole dorm and hall had a old smell and bathrooms were moldy.

I stayed at Pentland Hills my freshman year and I enjoyed everything about it. Me and my hallmates had plenty of space, the dining facilities were excellent(try the Korean BBQ tacos!), and the showers and the bathrooms were cleaned and supplied regularly.

It has been very pleasant. The area is incredibly pretty and relatively close to the restaurants that is on campus. The showers and bathrooms are always clean. The rooms are small but cozy and clean.

My experience at Pentland Hills was unforgettable. Though it was short lived due to the current pandemic, the opportunities and connections I formed there was memorable. I was fortunate enough to live in a living learning community which offers undergraduates with shared interests or traits to live with one another. My LLC was known as Stonewall which celebrates and welcomes those within the LGBT community. I was able to connect with other individuals who I identified similarly with while feeling embraced and safe. To the undergraduates expecting to live in Pentland Hills, I would strongly encourage them to apply to an LLC because LLC's can truly make the college experience enjoyable.

It's VERY nice, clean, and a great dorm to study in!! Pentland Hills is a suite-style; so each pod of 6 has their own restroom and shower which a PLUS!!! It doesn't have its own dining hall, but its walking distance!!! It's super big and really nice on the outside in, I RECOMMEND THIS DORM!!
