Virginia W. Kettering Hall Dorm Reviews at UD

My experience at VWK was very good. The rooms and bathrooms were great and the space is a good amount for 4 people. The halls would be clean and no noise during the night which was good for those late-night studying sessions. Overall, it was a great place to pick to live for your sophomore year.

As much as some people say that they do not want to live in VWK it is an amazing place it live. It is right in the middle of campus and there is a dinning hall downstairs. Overall I have had an amazing experience living here!

The views on the front of the building of the Dayton skyline are gorgeous, and the bay windows make them that much more enjoyable. It is bigger than any of the freshman dorms on campus, but the suites hold 4 people instead of 2, so you need to come up with a solid chore system or things will get out of hand. I have yet to encounter a bug of any sort in my room. The hallways are a little gross to walk through- do not touch the walls. I have seen both boogers and blood smeared on the walls, which is no doubt from a student, but it is a notable issue. Our bathroom had a ceiling leak at the beginning of the year, and maintenance didn't show up until our bathroom flooded and started leaking through the floor on to the front desk. Once they showed up, however, they took care of it, fixed the ceiling, and contracted an outside plumber to take care of any problems with the pipes. There is food on the main level, so you do not have to leave the dorm to access several different kinds of food, including sushi, stir fry, sandwiches, snacks, and more. They serve halal meat as well. Overall, I wish maintenance wasn't stretched so thin, and I think the sanitation staff could do a better job at maintaining the hallways.
