Bayou Oaks Dorm Reviews at UH

Bayou Oaks is one of the dorms that contains most sororities and fraternities. It also allows students to share a room with four bedrooms and 1/2 bathroom. The people working in the dorm are beneficial in ensuring the location is clean and safe each day. Even though the location is not ideal to walk to class and events, it overall is very nice.

It's pretty average. It's always something that may be broken, sometimes there are roaches, and you can hear the people above you. Nice closet and living room space. You get your own sink area and your door comes with a lock.

I have loved staying at Bayou Oaks. You get privacy and a typical college experience. I have been able to meet people and make friends here. I have a dog and she loves it here, too. It is clean and the staff are helpful.

Pros of Bayou Oaks include: Not having to buy a meal plan, Getting your own room and sink, sharing a bathroom and shower with only one person, Each kitchen has a stove, It is also a great place if you own a car, there is also gated parking. Cons of Bayou Oaks include: There is no computer lab in the dorms, It is a little far from campus so the walking distance will be great. It is in an area that has had a few robberies in the past few years. FYI: There are a lot of fraternities and sororities housed in these dorms.

Bayou Oaks is great if you are able to afford to live on campus, I think it is the best option if you are an older student who wishes to live in a dorm. Bayou offers a more fun environment that caters towards upperclassmen who can either have their own room or live in a townhouse with a roommate. There is always something happening that allows for students to feel connected but at the same time having the ability to study either in study rooms, or take a bus to the library.
