CTY 424-B Dorm Reviews at UIC

Courtyard is a basic dorm. The private bathrooms are very convenient as well as access to free laundry. However, it is a very old dorm building and many of the rooms have mold. It is right on campus and gives you easy access to everything including the West Loop.

Well for being my first year here, it is not as bad as I was anticipating. While it is a well-kept area, it almost feels like there is no one there. I don't know if it has to do with the pandemic or not, but you rarely see people in the halls making it a very strange environment. Overall, I will say I expected what I got here, so I cannot complain, and while I feel like it might be too quiet, then that means I need to be more involved. I recently registered for upcoming classes and some are in person, so I will be staying in the CTY still, just changing rooms, so I can't wait for that!

The suite style is really great. It provides me with the privacy to be with my friends and the shared bathroom is nicer than having a communal one. I also really like the location, as it's super accessible to all my classes.

I've had a pretty good experience with the Courtyard. It's a very convenient location, with it being connected to Student Center East and beside several green spaces which are good for studying. Additionally, the Courtyard provides an actual college campus, as well as and easy way to get really into the city.
