Great Basin Hall Dorm Reviews at Nevada

Is a good dorm for my first year, and I’m happy with my space and easy access to campus. I never feel cramped, and even if I do the common areas are good places for me to go to have space to study or hang out with friends.

My experience at Great Basin is a positive one. My room is a good size, and the bathroom is good for me and all my roommates to share with no issues. The common areas are decent sizes for bigger hangouts, and the study areas are good for when you need a place to sit and work without going far. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and it’s right on campus making the rest of the university easily accessible.

Very nice place to stay on campus. I was lucky enough to have my own room and it was nice. Me and my suitmate were the only ones in the suite so that was nice too. We also kept it very clean. Good air conditioning too.

Being the newest residence hall on campus, Great Basin was extremely enjoyable to live in. The building is clean, no problems with air conditioning or heating, and holds a great group of driven people. Having the floors separated by areas of study makes it easy to find study groups and make plenty of friends. The placement of the dorm is perfect within the campus, not too close to classes but not across the street so you don’t feel excluded from campus. Great Basin has plenty of washers and dryers which is very helpful as well as a computer lab which is awesome for doing assignments.

I was fortunate enough to attend UNR right when Great Basin Hall was built. Therefore, all the facilities were brand new and it was very clean. Compared to other residence halls, resources were plentiful. There was a large computer lab and laundry room. Furthermore, common areas are spacious and equipped with whiteboard walls and surfaces and a plethora of charging ports. Great Basin was the residence hall deepest into campus making it the best location-wise and it even had a convenience store. UNR dorms are very safe as there is always someone at the front and students can only gain entry via identification card. Maintenance spans the entirety of the residence halls and requests are usually dealt with in a speedy manner.

Great location! It is very close to the major dinning hall, just 1-2 min walking distance. It is also close to all the buildings I need to go for classes. Newly built building and well thought out floor plans.

It is always very clean and the people at the front desk are always very helpful and friendly and create a safe place to live in. I feel safe living in this hall with all of the security measures. I also like that the building is environmentally savvy. Overall I love this residence hall

Great Basin Hall is a great dorm for many reasons. It is the closest dorm on campus to the dining hall, it is filled with other stem majors and my whole floor is in the same section of the college I am in, CABNR. All the staff is friendly and helpful for keeping the residents safe.

I really enjoy living at Great Basin. It’s a newer dorm and has nice common areas. The location is good to get to all areas of the school. There are a lot of study rooms and tutors to help with homework. I’ve made some great friends living here.

Great Basin is one of UNR's newer halls and is for STEM reaching students only. The building is very modern and the technology for the conveniences inside is very updated. The front desk people, RA's, AM's, and staff are the friendliest people you will ever meet! The energy is always so pleasing in Great Basin! I live in a single room suite, and I love the amount of space me and my "suitemates" have. There are four single rooms to a common area, and the four of us(same gender) share a bathroom and a shower room. We have two bathroom sinks as well as a kitchen sink. The rooms come with a closet, a bed, a dresser, a desk/chair, and your own thermostat! They are very decently sized for just one person and it feels like I am at home here. We have social lounges and study lounges on every floor, whether you want to do some activities with friends or get some work done in a quiet place, Great Basin has it all! Oh and lastly, we're said to have the best Wifi on campus compared to other halls!

Great Basin Hall (Est. 2018) is a STEM based hall for students on campus. I live in a single room suite, which contains four single rooms to a common area and the four of us (same gender) share a bathroom and a shower room. There are two sinks outside of the bathroom and a kitchen sink on the other side of our common area. We have plenty of space outside of our room just as much as we do in our rooms! Each room has a closet, dresser, desk, and bed of course! You also get your own thermostat which is a plus! Not all rooms are like this as most residents have roommates. You will also find that we have social lounges for activities with friends, and study lounges for when you need a quiet place to concentrate on your work! All of the front desk people, RA's, AM's, and staff are the nicest human beings you will ever come across! They make living here very pleasant and friendly. Oh, and the Wifi is said to be the greatest on campus!
