Hillside Hall Dorm Reviews at Rhode Island

These are the nicest freshman dorms. Located right next to the better dining hall (Butterfield). This hall has elevators, which were great for move in day, especially if you’re on the 5th floor. The lounges have Ac but the rooms do not. This year because of the number of students URI accepted, hillside is mostly all triples. But if you’re in a triple you get money off your housing bill. Overall, it’s very nice and I am lucky to live here.

Really like being here in this dorm, only thing the rooms don't have Ac's, but it is one of the newest dorms on campus. I can also say that you walk a lot because everything is far away from this point.

I lived in Hillside Hall during the fall semester of my Freshman year, which was in the fall of 2020. I met new people, and the residency was organized by the major, or majors, of the students. I was satisfied with my experience living on campus, and have I no complaints in regards to my stay at this dormitory.

Hillside is a very nice hall. The dorm rooms at hillside are very big and you are able to fit very comfortable within the room. Considering the average dorm room, hillside is above average. Covid has effected some of these answers.

The biggest issue is that the building is solar-powered, which means ice-cold showers just because it's cloudy out :( BUT it's still a better option than the older dorms on campus. Some have no air conditioning and have insect problems

I had a great experience, had great times with all my friends. Very quiet which allowed me to get all my work done. The RA were so nice and understanding and very helpful. The location is nice for some but for me it was extremely far from my STEM classes but not a big deal.

Hillside Hall is a very new building, so living here feels luxurious. I love the location because we are close to dining halls and academic buildings, along with Memorial Union. The environment of the building is friendly and welcoming, and I am thankful to live here this year!
