Magnolia House Dorm Reviews at South Carolina

It was not the cleanliest of dorms, nor did it feel the safest. The room is usually noisy and the students act hyper-sexually, as well as there being shootings that occur in the nonstudent residency area.

My experience in Magnolia house is great. It is great location-wise because is close to the main campus where my classes and dining cafe are at. Also, the dorms themselves are very nice and have our own bathrooms which I like.

Magnolia is a home away from home. it is a nice place to stay while not being able to constantly stay home. The area is close to many restaurants and grocery stores. Each dorm that I have been in, has been extremely clean and well set up.

My experience has been a great experience. The staff is great and helpful. The community is nice and caring. The room is comfortable and nice and clean. If we have a problem they help us right when we need it. That is my experience at University of South Carolina Upstate.

These are great dorms to stay in. They offer nice rooms, clean and well taken care of. The maintenance is always there and there is always a security officer present in case of any issues. One bathroom and one living room.

For my first college dorm, Iβd say the experience was pretty good. Magnolia is all suite style with 2 bedrooms and 4 to a suite. There are also about 2 suites that have 4 single bedrooms. There was a common area with a TV, couches, and two study rooms. I got pretty acquainted with a lot of people on my hall so the common area became a cool hangout for me and my friends to chill, listen to music, and even host many game nights. There are 4 floors and each floor has its own common area, a laundry room, and a bathroom. The doors to go on to the actual hall can only be opened by your ID. The laundry rooms can be quite dirty because they expect students to clean after themselves which many do not. The trash in there can be overflowing. They do have a lady that comes in occasionally to clean the halls and the bathroom in the common areas. Itβs all carpet in the halls of Magnolia VS. the other dorm (Palmetto) is plain floors and has more of a bland look. I did like Magnolia overall but I wish they had more amenities like the other dorm did. Palmetto has a computer lab with printers and a game room that all students have access to but I wish they had the same in Mag. I also think the air was a little different in Mag, you couldnβt control the thermostat in this dorm but I believe that you have a little control in Palmetto. I did like the activities that Mag tried to do for students such as the door decorating contests though. Overall Mag is not a bad hall but there is definitely room for improvement. Hope this helps (:

When I first go to the Magnolia during the COVID pandemic everyone was socially distanced and we had to set up appointments to get to move in which is a good thing. Overall the move-in experience was great and after living here for about 2 months I would totally recommend this to any of my friends!
