Jester East Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at UT Austin

Jester East had been super welcoming, I enjoy being able to live on campus and be able to walk where I need to go. The staff is super friendly and having a community bath is nicer than expected. The dorm is always clean whether it be shared spaces or restrooms or anything.

I have really enjoyed staying here at Jester East. They really make me feel at home here, especially my RA's. I just kind of wish the shower spaces were a bit bigger and maybe add another vending machine with more stuff in the common areas because some of the snacks and drinks barely anyone drinks because they aren't really that popular.

Living in the Jester East Residence Hall has been great! Jester East is located near J2 Dining (essentially the residence cafeteria) and other food providers, Gregory Gym, the university's football stadium, and Speedway (a, if not the most, popular street on campus). I've been able to enjoy my time in my residence hall due to having great RAs, "neighbors", and custodians and I would definitely encourage others to choose to live in Jester East.

My first semester and first year at UT Austin was very nerve-racking at first. Fortunately enough, the folks over at Jester East helped make the transition from living with parents to living on your own. I was both lucky and unlucky because my first semester I had the dorm room to myself, but it did get rather lonely not having someone to directly to talk to, but it was easy enough to make friends with the neighboring rooms and making small talk with the people doing their laundry. Something that was fun was the various zoom meetings, whether it was a wellness check or invitations to social gatherings.

It's relatively quiet and definetely less crowded than Jester West from what I've heard, and everyone is very kind and welcoming. The staff are very nice as well and do a good job at keeping everything clean.
