Reynolds Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at Western Carolina

Living in Reynolds was a good experience. Being a private room was amazing, it gave me a chance to have a little privacy. It is an older building, which I was aware of when moving in, so dealing with the typical west and year of an old building was easy to come accustomed to. The maintenance staff was great and the view was beautiful as it overlooks some of the campus and the mountains. The biggest downside is that it is on top of a mountain, so the walk to get their from other places on campus is a tough one.

It is one of the oldest buildings on campus so the room looking old is to be expected. The room is pretty big while the bathroom is very small. A plus is the closet space as it has more than what people say a normal dorm room has.

Reynolds Residence Hall is the dorm building at the top of the hill. So if you are okay with taking the stairs going and leaving your dorm then this is the type of dorm for you. Overall the building is nice and each room has its own bathroom that is shared with your suitemates. The rooms also come with windows that can open and an individual ac/heater in each room to be controlled by the students. Only thing is that the ac is turned off during cold times and heater is turned off during warmers times.

It was okay, but dated. The whole building always had a smell to it and my neighbors were constantly using the bathroom. It is also super far from campus. You might not think its far, but that walk is all uphill and really stinks after not long.

Reynolds is on top of the Hill, which is furthest away from center campus (but there is a dining hall nearby just down the hill). The hall is pretty old and looks like it has not been renovated since its been built. There is no elevator, which is extremely annoying during the move-in/move-out process, especially if you're on the third floor. The rooms are some of the biggest I have seen on campus, but they haven't aged very well. The bathrooms (which are connected to two rooms) are very small with only a bit of standing room. The showers are small and are also aging with the peeling floor and green deposits on the shower handle.

Reynolds was my first experience being in a dormitory. I enjoyed living there although the bathroom and storage spaces were incredibly small. my overall experience there was very nice and I would recommend living there to anyone who is going to attend western.
