Valley 1 Dorm Reviews at WMU

Despite there being some early mornings with loud suitemates, my experience in Valley 1 was pretty nice! The rooms were big enough for my roommate and me to have our own spaces and the bathrooms were big enough to hold everything we needed. It is a long walk from main campus but I saw that as a good opportunity to get some exercise in. My only complaint is the distance from the food courts.

so far my experience has been really good. at the beginning of my stay here, it wasn't so great though because dealing with new roommates was a lot and also the rules and regulations that were set was also a lot to handle. whenever I have a problem with anything in my dorm or in my hall, help came immediately. so I guess that's a good thing. but overall i really am enjoying my time and stay here at valley 1

It is a great first year dorm experience. I recommend it to anyone coming to western. It was at a great location. Half way between the dining center and the main campus. there was always parking spots available.

Valley 1 looks nice and out in the open just like Valley 3. Itβs quiet most days and usually not busy at all. But, the laundry machines are known for how terrible they are. Valley 1 is the farthest from the Valley Dining Center but is the closest to halls such as Sangren Hall.

Valley 1 was pretty outdated besides the brand new community kitchen. The dorm was always very clean in the common rooms. The rooms are where things get a little dingy. Despite my numerous efforts to clean the floor in our room, it never looked or felt clean. Two former WMU graduates came to look at my dorm and they claimed that the rooms looked exactly the same. Keep in mind these graduates were around 50 years old. Despite the negatives of Valley 1, my overall experience living in a dorm was a big part of my college experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
