The beds are surprisingly comfortable and the built-in desk space is awkward but useful. There are no closet doors, so if you want a full-length mirror it will need to be free-standing. There is no air conditioning, so a box fan is recommended. There are both co-ed and gendered floors. Locking and unlocking your door will take a good 1-4 minutes during the first week or until you get the hang of it. If not knowing where a stain is from, smelling someone's B.O., or seeing random hairs that aren't yours is an absolute no-go, you may want to reconsider. more

Birch is arguably the nicest residence hall on campus; the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are private and clean, the common areas are nice to hang out in, there’s a good sense of community, and the staff really care about its residents! more

Right to the point - Linden Hall is very clean, safe, and modern from renovation in 2011. I am not a very college-oriented person. I am quiet, not too involved, and really enjoy my privacy. While Linden does well to accommodate these traits of mine personally, the RA team also offers common area events and gatherings periodically that don't require too much commitment. The price is higher than that of other dorms on campus but Linden Hall is well equipped and comfortable with extra privacy. However, noise seems to travel easily between rooms and floors - this is also dependent on residents. Parking is quite limited and expensive if you want close parking. Overall, I would recommend Linden if privacy and comfort are highly prioritized. more

The top floor common area was a nice place to hang out. Rooms are generally small like at most dorms, but I had a great roommate. The building was connected to others on campus via an underground tunnel which meant I didn't have to go outside during the winter to get to some of my classes which was nice. more

Pine hall was a very quiet dorm and did not have a lot going on. I liked how the floors were separated between the girls floors and boys floors, I felt safe in that dorm. The RA's were always easy to find and get a hold of if something was needed. The only issue was that the bathrooms were never kept very clean or the shared bathroom. more
