Living in Fairfax was nice because it's a dorm apartment, meaning my roommate and I got a kitchen and bathroom to ourselves. The living room is VERY spacious, and the kitchen is updated. I like that it's dorm living, meaning you get the community, but it's also more luxurious than actual dorms. The bathroom leaves something to be desired, but once you clean it up real good, it's fine! I wish the floors weren't carpeted (though I heard a rumor that management is slowly putting down hardwood floors) because it's hard to vacuum. The apartment also gets great light. I had a unit that faced the quad, and the trees were always lovely to look at.
