I have never had an issue with anybody or anything in this Hall. It is maintained very well, and if there is an issue, maintenance comes in a timely manner. Everyone who works at the front is very kind and always open to talk about whatever.

I actually enjoy McAlister very much but there are some problems. There is a build-up of dirt in the cracks where the floor meets the wall. I also notice they wax over hair and dirt. While that is frustrating I find the layout of the dorms very nice and the location is great. It's super close to almost all of my classes and it has a beautiful view of a church outside my window. The noise is more from the police cars that park near our dorm and the people who live above me. Otherwise, it is pretty quiet.

Met my roommate and immediately became best friends. We had freedom to decorate and turned a plain room into a cozy and functional space. I befriended two RA's who set up fun activities for us, socially distanced. My RA and I meet up for coffee and talk about music often - I can't wait to get back to CofC in January!

Living at McAlister Hall is the best hall for incoming freshman at CofC!!! You establish a community right off the bat with a roommate and 2 suite mates. Additionally, you get a spacious walk-in closet and bathroom. Itβs close to King Street, Maybank Hall, and many eating locations!! Overall, McAlister Hall is the best of them all!!
