As a freshman at UD, you are required to live in a "traditional dorm" which means you share a big room with a roommate and you share a bathroom with the entire floor. The rooms themselves are not bad. The room is big enough for 2 people to live comfortably and the windows are really nice. They're big and the blinds shut so there's little light coming inside if you want it that way. You get a basic desk, sink, and closet which are all very basic, but do the job well. I don't like the "open house" rules in which you can only have the opposite sex in your room during certain hours and the door has to be cracked open. I think that is a ludicrous idea. But, as far as the dorms themelves go they're very basic, but the common areas are kept clean and it's a nice dorm. The "living room' and kitchen are really big and its convenient to have large gatherings in there. There is free laundry which is a huge plus. The walls are very thin though and its easy to hear other people's conversations if they're talking loud enough.
