Freshman South Dorm Reviews at Marshall

I was debating on if I was going to dorm in the fall 2023 in june. I made my decision and I chose dorming to stay closer to student life and my classes; and it was the best decision I have ever made. I love dorming in freshman south. It feels like home now.

I love how close the freshman dorms are to the gym and the parking lot. It made coming and going super easy. It was a little bit of a longer walk to class but on sunny days I honestly loved that. Overall I would recommend incoming freshman to choose this dorm if they have the chance.

Freshman South is hands down the best dorm building at Marshall for first years! It is in a great location and the building is very nice and new. Each room has its own personal bathroom and shower. Super nice and comfortable living!

My time at Freshman South was extremely positive for my first time living on my own. It was a wonderful place with plenty of room to use, especially in the second half of the year, and there was plenty to see, do, and gain from the aspect of living there. Too bad the people were far from the best to live with.

I enjoy freshman south a lot but my roommate and I had a mouse problem and when reported it was never taken care of. As a result of that, we had to switch rooms in order for them to finally catch the mouse and clean the room.

My experience has been a positive one. I have a lot of friends that are staying in this dorm and that makes my transition so much easier. I have always felt safe and the location is great. The staff is super friendly. I have not had any problems to date. Go Herd!!!

Freshman South has been a wonderful place to live the past two months. The RAs and staff are absolutely great and so kind. There are all kinds of events and activities held for the residents to participate in which allows for some kind normal during these times. Overall Freshman South has been great and I would recommend it to anyone coming to Marshall University!
