I was a Community Mentor, or RA, in North Commons for a year and a half. I recently resigned due to the poor management of the building. The higher ups in Residential Life did not care about what was happening in the building. The supervisor smoked in the building and nothing was done. COVID-19 restrictions created a depressing environment because I was not able to connect with my residents and they did not know each other. The facilities are very nice but it does not feel like "home" because the department is too busy worrying about their rules than student's and staff's mental health.
