Beaver Hall Dorm Reviews at Penn State

Beaver Hall is a very nice location. It is close to downtown and not far from most buildings around campus. However, there is no air conditioning, so the warm weather makes it very uncomfortable. In addition, the communal bathrooms are very gross and I dread walking into them.

My experience at Beaver Hall was great. I met a lot of new friendly people and my RA was really nice. Almost everything in Beaver Hall is outdated with the exception of the lobby, but it still has everything you need. Other than that and the lack of air conditioning, Beaver Hall was a great place to live.

I stayed in Beaver Hall for my Freshman Year of college (Fall 2020 and Spring 2021). During that time, the halls were labeled "traditional", so they were still rundown and not as aesthetically pleasing as other halls on campus. Just before I left the dorms after my first year I did hear that they were going to do some renovating. The common areas, on the other hand, were actually really nice and always a great place to study. I also did have a problem with air conditioning and heating. We did have AC and heating, but it really wasn't great. My roommate and I had to get our own fan and heater otherwise the dorm would get really cold or really hot. Regardless even though the Hall itself isn't fantastic, the people and location is great. Beaver Hall had a great community of staff and residents. Dorm residents were great towards everyone on every floor and it was easy to make friends. There were always social gatherings in Beaver. The location also offered a great access to downtown. Just across the street and you had access to a wide variety of great food and places to shop.

The location of Beaver Hall is great. It's close to downtown and the HUB, practically at the heart of campus. You can get anywhere in a short amount of time. There's also a good number of freshman who live in this area so you don't need to worry about not making friends.

Its not bad, the people can get really loud especially at night. My floor is certainly a party floor, every weekend they're up all night having fun. I think they could remodel the place, I especially hate the showers. They spray one way and it really takes some getting used to.
