Thompson Dorm Reviews at Penn State

I like this hall because it closed to my classrooms in the morning so I do not have to worry about late. This hall is quite quiet so It is good environment to study and chill. Food is not too bad but not too good

I like Thompson Hall. However, It is kind of far from my classes. The lounge is small but quiet. The staff cleaned the hall pretty good and the puplic bathroom is good, clean everyday. It closes to the common so it is quick to get food.

Out of the two dorms I lived in at Penn State, Thompson was my favorite. The rooms are very spacious and have a unique layout compared to the other dorms on campus. The only downside is that the rooms do not have AC, so it gets pretty hot during the summer.

I had a decent time there during the covid pandemic. The walls are kinda thin so you can hear word for word of your neighbors conversations. The bathrooms were decently cleaned, it was mainly the residents who destroyed the bathroom and wouldn’t flush toilets causing the cleanliness to be a lower rating.

Thompson is extremely quiet and nothing happens there. It's a little away from any hangout places. There is no air conditioning there and extremely hot. My roommate and I had 5 fans and were still dying of heat. The dorm is well maintained there and the staff are super nice.

If school is a priority for you, then I would definitely recommend Thompson Hall. It is a very quiet environment. People are serious about quiet hours. If you are looking for a remotely fun time, I would not recommend Thompson at all.
