Susan B. Anthony Hall

Overall the living conditions at Susan B. Anthony have been good. There was an internal issue with bed height requests but it got resolved and the people in residential were quick to act when the issue was realized. Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms are easy to get to, plus the elevator makes the 6 floors more accessible. more

Despite the amount of gigantic roaches that owned the Sue B. bathrooms, I would definitely recommend this dorm to future students. It gets VERY hot and the building isn't always the most clean, however, these are things that many students, including me, have gotten used to throughout these past months. The location of Susan B. is the best because the majority of the Freshmen live there so you'll most likely be close to your friends or have the chance to meet other first years. Also, it is located right above one of our dining halls as well as Hillside market, which makes it easier if you'd want to stay indoors. more

Genessee Hall

Very clean and always well maintained. New features and few problems with the buildings amenities. Lots of areas to gather and excellent study rooms on the floors. The staff are always friendly and helpful with questions. Finally, having additional classrooms and the tutoring center in the building is nice for doing schoolwork. more

Wilder Towers

I loved living at Wilder! However, this is the building where all sororities (or it might be almost all) live, so it can get quite noisy when they party or hang out together. One thing that really made Wilder awesome for me was the renovated bathrooms. The shower was spacious enough that you could shower, dry, and change all in the same space, plus there were two sinks available with decent counter space. more

This is my second year living here. The buildings are well constructed and maintained, there is plenty of parking, and it is safe and secluded. It can get loud at night, but that is mainly due to outside noise and not the people above or next to me. more

Lovejoy Hall

I loved it. My room was very big and was the size of a triple, and I lived in a double. It only gets hot during orientation week, but that is because there is no AC and it is summer. The AC isn't a problem for the rest of the year because rochester is colder. I made so many friends in Lovejoy, it was great. The location was amazing and I could walk to class in less than 5 minutes usually. more

Eastman Student Living Center

Although the building itself may need some deeper cleaning in some spaces, some remodeling in others for a more aesthetically pleasing look, the staff is absolutely amazing and I feel incredibly safe and fortunate to have wonderful coffee shops and brunch places to try out nearby. more

Everything is good except the kitchen is too small. The natural beauty is awesome. The rent was OK initially but it is rising with time which is getting to much. Central heating is not started till now (9/15/20). more

I enjoyed my time in the Phase complex. The only downside was the walk to the engineering quad from it. Overall the tunnel system is very helpful and the dorms are pretty standard for University of Rochester. more

I really enjoyed it since it was a six person suite and many of us were friends. It really taught us how to live on our own and with people we knew and got to know along the way. I believed it was clean and the view was nice. There were many nights where we bonded in the common room as well as the other people in the other suite across from us. more

I met most of my very good friends in Gilbert and will always cherish it, yet it definitely was not the cleanest and didn't have AC, two big deterrents in my eyes. I will say the dorm size is very nice, but some of the kitchen amenities did not work, such as microwaves. more

Sue B is where about half of the freshman live, so it is pretty likely you will have at least a few of your friends there, if not all. It is a good location and has Hillside Market and Danforth dining hall, both of which are very convenient in the winter when you don't want to go outside. The bathrooms are cleaned every weekday, so despite being communal, they're not awful. The kitchens are pretty bad though, but you can't really expect anything better considering its just a bunch of college students making ramen. Overall I would say Sue B is far superior to any dorm on the quad more

Brooks Crossing Apartments

Overall I don’t enjoy the area too much and am not a huge fan of the apartments but it was a good cheap first place to live. The staff however is great, but the unit is quite small and the washers and dryers tend to be quite loud. more
