Montgomery House Dorm Reviews at SCAD

Montgomery house is good for the price you pay, some people love it but I don't personally due to when I am bored or I need air can't walk around there is nothing safe to walk to. The food and everything is overall good to my standards.

My best dorm experience at SCAD. The apartment style rooms are a great set up. Laundry rooms on each floor, a gated off area from the public around it and for animation students most of their classes are right next to the building.

Positives: The shared work spaces and immediate proximity to Montgomery Hall are convenient. Negatives: Maintenance is unreliable - for example the laundry machines on one of the floors were broken for almost two months before maintenance got to the issue. The Monty dining hall Byte Cafe is pretty low quality and meal credits don't get you very much food at the other option, Carnival. Most dorm rooms are poorly lit, and bathrooms have bad ventilation. The trash rooms on each floor fill up very quickly.

Montgomery is rumored to actually be an old morgue, and the entire building is concrete. It can get a little stuffy, especially since all dorms are split up to fit 4 people to share a room (you can view the dorm set ups through SCAD's website). It is also in a very unsafe part of Savannah, and you frequently hear gunshots. I would try to get a dorm closer to downtown if possible.

I was roomed on the fourth floor and I was roomed with three amazing roommates. Since I was on the fourth floor, there were not as many residents as the other three floors. The RAs were amazing. I made many friends who were residing in this dormitory.
