Lima hall at The College of Saint Rose is a communal dorm building with a communal floor bathroom. There are five total floors, not including the basement and lobby that house students of both genders. The bottom two floors house all male students and the top three floors house all female students. The dorms are doubles, housing two students to a dorm, however singles can be requested. The building does not have air conditioning, however with a twin window fan, the rooms can stay perfectly cool. My dorm has been customized exactly how I had envisioned as the RA and college staff do not censor our decorations outside of safety and fire concerns. I have both a mini fridge and microwave that I use frequently and the smell only lingers for five to ten minutes after the food is disposed of. The communal bathrooms were originally a concern for me but I have grown to enjoy playing music with my friends and singing along from the stall over. The remainder of the students in the hall are respectful of quiet hours and keep to themselves. My only complaint would be the inconsistency of the dorm elevator working, as an athlete who is often exhausted after practices and lift, when I get back to the dorms, I am uninterested in climbing four flights of stairs. Otherwise Lima hall is a good freshman dorm college experience.
