The Village Dorm Reviews at UCSD

Pretty solid living situation, they should be more accommodating about allowing students to pick their suitemates! If I had had that opportunity, my living situation would have been much, much better. Additionally, the rooms were a bit dark.

I loved that the Village was housing specifically for transfer students. When I transferred to UCSD, I wanted the full on-campus experience, but I didn't want to dorm with incoming freshmen who were two to three years younger than me. Instead, my roommates at the Village were all transfer students also so we had in common: all of us transferring from a community college, being our first year at UCSD, and we were all around the same age. The Village is also better than traditional dorms because you have one unit with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and 3-4 bedrooms per unit so you're not sharing the bathroom or kitchen with like 20 students but just 4-5 other people. There is also weekly cleaning offered by the Village. The Village was also located on campus so I walked to all my classes, and they also have a shuttle system for on-campus that takes you from the Village to Revelle (a 30 minute walk) if you have too many books to carry or are in a rush. Village is also located right next to Spanos (the track and field), tennis courts, and RIMAC (the most popular student gym) so it has great location. It was also a 15 minute walk from Geisel Library so every midterm or finals week, I would walk back home at like 2 am in the morning after studying. The entire path towards the Village is well lighted and I always felt safe walking home. If you need, UCSD also offers security escorts to help walk you to your destination safely. Totally recommend the Village!

Living in Village B is just like having your own little apartment. You've got your own bathroom and a separate bedroom from your roommate, if you have one. The noise level if you're not living on the top floor can get pretty bad, no matter where you are on the floor. Overall, I love it!

Village B is a great place to live! All the juniors who are planning on studying abroad for a semester live there, so it's a great place to meet people. The building is in a good location, clean and has nice kitchens and bathrooms.

During my sophomore and junior year, I lived in apartment 705 located in the 700s building. And then I moved to apartment 704 which is one door over to the left of 705 during my senior year. Thus, I would say I liked apartment 705 for reasons I will list down below. The pros of apartment 705. 1. The layout is overall bigger and aesthetically pleasing. 2. You get a nice view of the mountains right outside your bedroom window. 3. New equipment in the apartment such as the laundry machines and refrigerator. 4. The front of the apartment partially faces a tree which gives you more privacy. 5. Minimal to no noise at all 6. Great location if you want to host a kickback or party. 7. Each individual room was a nice size. The cons of apartment of 705. 1. One of the windows in the living room had broken blinds at the bottom. It was not too terrible though. 2. The lock on the patio does not lock all the time, but it doesn't matter because you're the only one who has access to your own patio, and you are also on the top floor so no one has access to it except for you. 3. Occasional stink bugs here and there, but nothing to terrible to handle. 4. The sink would occasionally clog up on one side of the apartment. The pros of apartment of 704. 1. You have a nice and private patio. You have enough privacy for yourself, but can also immerse with the vibrant college scene taking place down below you. I preferred this patio over the one in apartment 705. 2. Great location if you want to host a party/kickback. 3. There was minimal to no noise at all. 4. Room A and Room D are a nice size, and room C is not too bad of a size either. The cons of apartment of 704. 1. The layout is smaller and weirder 2. The lights would go out in the kitchen and one side of the house. 3. The sink would occasionally clog up on one side of the apartment. 4. Room B is the smallest room in the house ( I had room B).

Overall, New Village is probably the best dorm for sophomore students. It has the biggest common room out of all of the dorms so you can put as much furniture as you want in there and have as many people as you want over. It is also right next to a parking lot so your car is easy to access. However, it does have a downside of being at the top of a hill and far from the main area of campus.

While the furniture may not be the most comfortable, who can complain when you are LITERALLY five minutes away from Glider Point, a street away from dining dollar sushi, and you have the best view in all of San Diego! I loved living in these dorms.

The village consists of many senior students. The living situation consist of 4 single bedrooms with twin xl beds, a closet space, a desk, a dresser, and window. The is a living room, full kitchen and dining room table. The kitchen has a lot of storage space for pots pants and etc. The hallway consist of four closets. There is a shared bathroom within the apartment that includes two sinks, a toilet stall, and single shower. The apartments have elevators and stairs. There’s a common area that the residence of the village can hangout in and do laundry for free. The common area has ping pong, vending machines, flat screen TVs, gaming systems, board games, tables, chairs, couches, and etc. I really love the independence I feel while living at the village.

The Village is a beautiful community right next to Glimmerglass Lagoon. It offers an off-campus escape to study and do my work in the privacy of my own room. With people and parking lots on either side, it can get quite loud at times, but overall I love living in the Village.

My experience at The Village was memorable. As a first year UCSD student, I believe that living in the village (west tower) was an exhilarating time because of the student life and commodities offered. I recommend this dorm location to all students moving to UCSD.

The rooms are spacious and have great heating and cooling. There are three floors so it kind of sucks if you are placed on the third floor because of stairs. I have the bottom floor which is a single that is ADA compliant. The kitchen has two ovens, stoves, and refrigerators, and is amazing for cooking. It's a 4/5 for me.

I live in a 4 bedroom 2 bath at Village Oaks. This is the cheapest option and it has never bothered me to share a bathroom with someone else. I like the layout of Village Oaks and there is amenities on site, such as 2 Laundromats, a sand volleyball court, and multiple grill sites.

Personally, I really enjoy the village. I do wish there were kitchens available in all of the buildings, but besides that, I have no complaints. I have loved living there with 5 of my friends for the past three years.

I LOVED living at the village. I made some of my closest friends here because we all became a family! I never felt unsafe and loved calling this place my home my first year at GCSU. The bus was also very helpful so we wouldn't have to worry about parking on campus. It was always on time and never took long if we had to wait!

The Village is located between the Student Marshall Center and Publix, with a gym and pool close by. Along with the convenient location, the friendly staff keeps the common areas and bathroom clean at all times. The residents of the halls are polite and not very noisy.

I really loved my dorm it. I loved my neighbors too. It was like we were a family. If I needed anything I could simply go to my neighbors and they would provide me with anything I needed and we made sure we kept our hallway clean

My experience has been nothing but great living in The Village here at The University of Findlay. My personal dorm room has a half bath, and that is great to have! Also, incredibly clean and safe, and everyone here is so nice!

Great space private rooms with common kitchen area only two share a bathroom A walk to classes but free shuttle available. Security shuttle available at night. Only negative is student parking very far away!

village is well-positioned in respect to the classrooms. our suite is laid out well, with a large, comfortable common room and the bedrooms elevated around it.......great spot to live with a group of close friends.
