I enjoyed my time in Redding. I found a great community of friends to spend time with and hang out with in the lounge. We played board games and had movie nights every week. The dorm itself was clean and well-designed. The rooms have AC which was also really nice. As for the location, it's right in the heart of East Campus where most freshman housing is, so it lends itself to making friends easily.

I enjoy living at Louis L. Redding Hall. One thing in particular that I love is there are many common spaces on each floor. This gives lots of students the opportunity to study in quiet spaces without having to leave the dorm. In addition, it is very close to two of the dining halls on campus and not a far walk from Main Street if you are not feeling the dining hall food on a specific night. Staff and Honors Munson Fellows host lots of events, such as study breaks that allow students to socialize and make new friends.

I definitely miss living in Redding! I had the greatest floormates and RA, and they all made my first year living there incredible. I still consider them very good friends three years later. I also appreciated how we had AC! Saved me a lot of unnecessary stress in the hotter months.

My experience at Redding was pleasant, although it didn't last long due to the COVID outbreak. Because it was a newer building, it was definitely nicer than some of the other nearby dorms. We had AC and heating and it was generally a pretty quiet dorm (possibly because it was the honors dorm). On weekends, friends would invite each other out or there may occasionally be an event in the common rooms for each floor depending on what the community wanted to do. My RA was there if we needed him, but overall wasn't the most helpful. However, I didn't have any issues that I needed to address with him. We did have Munson Fellows that would help us with more academic questions and concerns. It was reassuring to know that they were only a year older and had just went through the experience that we had gone through.
